Ownership
Laugstol is owned by Telemark Group AS (51%), Skagerak Energi AS (33.4%) and the company’s employees (15.6%) and we are an electrical entrepreneur enterprise with activities in the principal areas of grid infrastructure, electrical installation, telecom/fibre, communications/transport – lighting and Energi Service/ENØK. The head office is situated in Porsgrunn and the company’s activities are spread over a wide geographical area from Kristiansand to Oslo, but mainly concentrated in Telemark and Vestfold. We have branch offices in Tønsberg and Arendal/Froland.
Telemark Group AS is a company located in Skien that invests in companies within the sectors of energy, health and IT. The owners have many years of experience in operation and development of industrial companies.
Skagerak Energi is one of Norway’s largest energy groups and is owned by Statkraft (62.62%) and the municipalities of Skien, Porsgrunn and Bamble. Skagerak Energi’s business concept is wealth creation for customers, shareholders and the community by:
- Producing, transporting and selling electricity.
- Developing and supplying energy-related products and services.
Laugstol's business model
Laugstol's business model is based on a professional implementation of larger and smaller projects, as well as framework agreements for customers in the eastern Norwegian region. The customer portfolio is versatile with a predominance of clients in the public sector and industry.
As at 1.8.2016, Laugstol had 134 employees, which always includes 10 – 15 apprentices. Taking corporate social responsibility for training in our industry is important for us. In all activities, the emphasis is placed on the company's core values, which are competence, accountability and innovation.
As a partially publicly owned energy group, we are particularly concerned with how we can contribute to energy and the environment and feel we can assist our customers in designing their facilities in the most rational and energy-efficient way. Each year we publish an environmental account where waste volume, emissions and other environmental impacts arise, with a number of dedicated objectives that Laugstol can contribute to in this area.
Laugstol is certified according to the Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) standard and is also ISO 9001 certified.
Laugstol's fields of expertise
We are an electrical contracting firm and cater to the following fields of expertise:
Lighting and transport - all electrical, lighting and SRO installations for road and tunnel installations. We are market leaders in Vestfold and Telemark (office in Porsgrunn and Tønsberg), active in Oslo, but cover the whole of Norway with regard to major enquiries.
Electricity and high voltage - all installations for a cable network and distribution network construction (cabling, line, substation etc.), power plants and high-voltage industry. We also carry out thermal imaging and topography on lines with the aid of helicopters and carrying out inspections on foot. We are the market leader in high voltage in Vestfold and Telemark, are active in Oslo, but cover the whole of Norway with regard to major enquiries.
Fibre and telecom - all installations related to fibre networks (core net and FTH). We operate nationwide in connection with bids for major projects. Telemark and Vestfold are the primary areas for smaller projects.
Installation work gr L - all electro, alarm and building monitoring. We cover primarily Telemark and Vestfold.
Building automation, energy saving and SD plant – We cover primarily Agder, Telemark and Vestfold, but are ready and able to engage on larger projects in other regions/locations – please feel free to contact us.
